I received some @winsorandnewton and @liquitexofficial samples at the recent @thequeenstownartshow. Who doesn't love trying out new products! ❤️ Here's my little review...

I'm absolutely in love with these acrylic gouaches! Texture is just like with regular gouaches, but without the risk of reactivating the layers underneath. Matt sheen so characteristic for gouaches is on point. I'm definitely gonna try more of @liquitexnz colours! Not to mention their heavy body acrylics which I used to paint my latest landscape. 🥰

I'm also very impressed with cadmium free scarlet professional series watercolour. Every art conservator knows that the nicest reds are the most deadliest. 😅 With this one you don't need to worry about ingesting heavy metals while painting the most vibrant hues. Good job @winsorandnewtonnz!

I'm reading this book, "Mindfulness in Drawing", that a friend lent me. I keep thinking about all the people that gave up on drawing, because they were told that they cannot do it. That you need to have talent/ you have to be good at it from the beginning and so on.

This is one of the biggest lies I keep hearing about. Everyone can draw and you definitely don't need to be great, to enjoy it. I always look at kids, how they intuitively keep playing with crayons, pencils and paints for the pure joy of experimentation and flow. Their artworks are not as important as the experience of being immersed into the activity of drawing.

I highly recommend reading this book. But, most importantly, drawing - for the sake of doing it, not to "produce" something beautiful. You might be surprised how much fun you can have if you just doodle with no high expectations.

Reflections have always captivated me, and lately, I've been exploring their depth through landscape painting. This piece is particularly close to my heart—'Wild Tatras: The Eye of the Sea,' inspired by one of the most iconic lakes in the Polish Tatra Mountains, near Zakopane where I’m from.

Five minutes after I start painting I forget myself and become a shrimp. Then I remind myself I was supposed to work on my posture. So I sit straight for five minutes, until I get into the flow again...

It's a challenge on its own to stay straight, I tell ya!

My POV today with birds singing in the background. Absolutely in love with the colour pallette of the landscape painting I've been working on. Mixing greys with ultramarine (blue) and burnt siena (brown) to achieve those nuanced transitions between hues and values.
