About the classes

Art is more than making things look nice. It’s a way of thinking – of seeing a problem, forming an idea, and following it through to something real.

In these classes children work across drawing, painting and mixed media in a small, guided environment. Students are encouraged to observe, experiment, ask questions and develop their own way of seeing and making.

Only 8 spots per class.

What to expect

Each session is personalised to support each child in building their own style and creative voice. Through a range of techniques and challenges, children develop not just technical skills, but also the confidence to bring their ideas to life.

Term 4 runs Tuesdays, 13 October to 15 December. $300 per child.

Why art matters

  • Creative problem solving – art encourages thinking outside the box and finding unique solutions.
  • Confidence building – completing creative projects fosters a sense of accomplishment and self worth.
  • Project initiation and completion – students learn how to follow through on ideas and stick with tasks.
  • Improved focus – engaging the senses through art helps train attention and mindfulness.

Using still life as source for our imagination.

We designed our own soda can or perfume bottle. Surprisingly, poop was quite often an ingredient. Who would have thought.

In class, we practice generating ideas and exploring multiple concepts. The process matters as much as the final result.

About Kasia

Kasia is a professional art conservator and artist with over 20 years of experience, classically trained in fine arts. She runs her creative studio in Queenstown, teaching everyone from complete beginners to working artists.

Since 2022, Kasia has guided hundreds of students through original workshops and courses built around real techniques and quality materials.

Painting is visual problem solving – and I love solving problems. Sometimes you just need to stay with them for a little bit longer.

Kasia works across fine arts and design, creating murals and illustrations. Outside the studio, she’s usually out hiking with her husband and dog, Muppet. She’s an avid bird nerd, with a particular soft spot for ducks.
